Need to get a new clutch fitted to a standard n/a MR2. There doesnt appear to be any local specialists around so have shortlisted down to:

Hyeline Performance - Waiting on price.

Mr Clutch - £330 fitted but not a great reputation

Roath Garages - Waiting on price

I know the latter have a great reputation but any other ideas, or opinions on the others would be appreciated.

Any ex Toyota techs. out there looking for work!

Cheers guys

Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT go to Hyeline for anything doing to your car

Don't know the others so can't comment there

I know an ex toyota mechanic who's opened hisown garage but he's 70 miles west of Cardiff. Still, he's cheap and knows his stuff. My Toyota won't go anywhere else.

Since he did the engine transplant into my Corolla my car has not been anywhere except Kevin Clarkson in Droitwich. Shame it's 180 mile round trip but he is an independent Toyota specialist. The local Toyota dealer uses him when they can't fix things

Looks like we will need to travel to get a decent job. MR2 forums seem to recommend a place in Hook so might bite the bullet and go there if nothing else pops up...

Cwmbran Gearbox Specialists have a good reputation. I haven't been there myself, but plan to use them for a box refurb this summer. All I have is their number - 01633 871766.

There is also another good specialist behind Radyr Train Station, but unfortunately I've lost their details and can't remember their name

Hope that helps

Tony.
