ooh ta. I have interrogated the climate computer and there are no fault ocdes there.
There is some cooling initially which lessens with time.
I cannot hear the compressor clicking on and off which is my next concern.
But most advice I have had so far is to get regassed and then proceed from there.
The AC was icy when I bought the car used in October last year and I regulary turned the aircon on every week.
I just hope it's a regas and not a new compressor.

I was in Halrauds yesterday - I'm sure I saw the price for a re-gassing can was £39!!!
Fine if it works but costly if it jut p****s out quicker than it goes in!!
At east the guy that called, presssured the system first and put a meter on to measure any loss, prior to putting the proper stuff in.

Not sure how halfords get away with selling cans of refrigerant for cars, especially at £39.99??? The new F-Gas directives do not allow for adding gas to a system with a known leak without first fixing leak -large fines apply (well in industry anyway, prob get away with it as amateur!)
I would always recomend getting a qualified engineer to vac the system out to ensure no moisture has leaked in, pressure test to ensure no leaks..to avoid being in same situation in a week! then to charge the correct amount of refrigerant...not to guesstimate the correct charge. all being well this shouldn't take more than 30-45 mins for a competent engineer & £30-45 seems a fair price inclusive of refrigerant if he has to travel to you.

if it is just a re-gas & leak test you want - and you dont mind getting into cardiff before 8.30 or after 5.00, am sure we could come to some PistonHeads discount agreement!
