PH Wales BBQ ideas
Discussion
At the last run, the idea of a PH BBQ and general get-together was discussed.
I know the nice weather is a dim and distant dream at the moment, but I'm bored at work so started looking around at possible venues and wanted to get more ideas from you guys.
So far I've looked at:
Cosmeston Lakes & Country Park -
Good points - BBQ's on site for rental. Nice scenery, lots of space, clean toilets plus cafe
Downsides of going here - you have to park quite some way from where the BBQs are located and there are some speed bumps in the car park (pretty sure you can negotiate around them though).
Porthkerry -
Good points - BBQ's on site for rental close to parking area, toilets, small shop, nice open areas. Short walk to seafront.
Downsides of going here - some nasty speed bumps along the road in the park, not a huge amount of parking space
Pembrey Country Park
Good points - Lots of parking area, BBQs can be set up by your cars, excellent scenery
Downsides of going here - You have to take your own BBQ. You have to pay to park your cars (prices varies depending on month), bit of a drive to get there (not that this should be an issue for PHers)
They are the only places I have looked at so far. Any other ideas?

I would sudgest not going to far north, this side of brecon should be our limit.
A beach sounds like a fun idea, maybe camping with copious amounts of alcohol to go with the food
I had the idea of a WelshHoon the other day, a full trip up one side of Wales, stay overnight somewhere and make a trek back down the next day taking in the likes of the Horseshoe pass etc..

What about Pembrey circuit ? They the facilities for over night camping and loads of parking space. PLUS there's the track !!
That sounds good !
Trouble with Pembrey is the cost if we were to do any sort of event on it, we would have to go down to a day where there is already track action or a race day taking place. I thought about it but i think we would just be better off going for a drive in the hills or to the beach and setting up in some scenic location somewhere.
I like the idea of a good bbQ and would prefer it to be combined with an overnight stop such as camping. I for one cannot get the thought of a bbQ without ale out of my head. What's wrong with traditional camping sites and such places like Saundersfoot/Tenby or, if there are those who want to stay more South The Gower. At least this way we can enjoy ourselves keeping a close eye on the motors at the same time. End of April onwards though me finks.

An overnight camp with a few beers sounds good to me Would definitely need to wait a while though, the last time I went camping at the start of May it was freezing.
Maybe we can have a BBQ with a run like the guys did last Sunday soon, and have an overnighter a bit later in the year?
