Looking to get a front and rear dash cam hard wired into my GR86. I’ve seen people recommend Halfords but 1) they’re usually pretty useless and 2) I can’t imagine they’ll have done a GR86 before so don’t want to be a test run for them.

Happy to go anywhere within about 50 miles of Newport.

I bought a GR86 last week, I'll be doing the dashcam installation myself, it's not particularly hard and there are good online guides to help.

Otherwise just find a local auto electrician and have a quick chat with them, you'll soon know if they are clueless or not. A quick google came up with this company in Newport. https://twaautoelectrics.co.uk/services/dash-camer...

Only had it a week, but it's all going well so far. This is my daily driver and its proving comfortable and enjoyable.

One thing to be aware of is that it doesn’t have an alarm in the UK. Tripped a few people up when selecting insurance “Thatcham cat 1/2” etc. GR-Zoo has a wealth of information as well if you’re not aware of it already.

Many thanks, I did cover that one with the insurers.thumbup

I'll check out that forum, the car definitely could benefit from a few tweaks and that's where forums are really handy. Thanks again.

I've used https://audioconcepts.co.uk/ in Cardiff for lots of electrical stuff, always had good service. Personally I would touch Halfords for that, easier to do it yourself.
