Just wondering...local meet.....??
Discussion
Well thats 4 so far...........
Obviously have to sort out a date/venue next......
As a suggestion, there is a local Westfield owners club meet on last Wednesday of each month, at the Black Cock Pub, Caerphilly Mountain. At the moment they are only getting 3 or 4 people along, so I'm sure they wouldn't mind a few like minded petrol heads turning up at the same time....
(Has the advantage for me of only having to negotiate one "pass" for both purposes!!! )
Any other ideas/suggestions

I may be able to stir up some American plastic/iron to attend and it's not far from me. We normally meet at The Allensbank 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month.
I assume we're talking Wednesday the 31st August?
Hi Lus1fer - that would be the date, although it looks quite likely that I won't be around... No reason why you guys shouldn't "get on with it" though...
As I said, it was just a suggestion, we could try and arrange something entirely different if there are other ideas.....how about your American meets? Would it be possible to "tack-on" to one of those??
Anyone else?
Ideas?
We would welcome anyone who wants to come and tack on our American car meets as above. It's called "Brwsters" now. One of our members has a TVR Griffith (not that you'll hear a good word about it) which replaced a VX220 Turbo and many of our members seem to turn up in Euroboxes whilst their "projects" are in progress. LOL. It seems our shows have also broadened to include some cars that are most certainly not American and some that are very "questionable".
However, we tend to not actually go anywhere. As you can imagine, American car owners come from all strata of society (some "different" to your own, shall we say...politely, LOL) and sometimes 9mpg isn't funny. You may not be able to appreciate a day van either, if you get my drift. Some of the club memebers are into the old classics and cruising rather than others who want to drive their cars in the manner for which they were designed.
Accordingly, I would suggest that a separate venue like the Black Cock would be better with perhaps the odd blat up to the Nant Ddu in Brecon for a bit of food whilst enjoying the performance aspect of the cars. Not that I'm excluding normal cars from that as being a Pistonhead is far more important.
I'd rather a day we can all go though rather than turn up looking like drips though. He he.

Thanks for the response Lus1fer!
Points taken
I'm sure that once a few people start getting together on a regular basis, then "other" events will start happening! However, I think its best not to be too ambitious. So just trying to get a few like minded people together in the same place, for a tyre kick and chat, seems a good place to start!
Problem is, its looking ever more likely that I won't be here on the 31st!!!!

Adam, you'll have to let me nose around your VX. I'm in the process of saving up for one.
What colour is it BTW? I may have seen you around
It's a Black N/A. Around Cardiff quite a bit so you may have seen me there. You are more than welcome to have a nose around.
