Steel Works - location help
Discussion
Hi all,
With the weather looking a bit "moody" over the next few days I thought I would like to get some photos of the steel works "under a leaden sky" so to speak.
I live within seeing distance (only a hill in the way) but do not know the area very well at all. Does any one know a public space that gives a good view either over the works or reasonably close to a point of interest?
Directions or a multimap location would be really useful.
Cheers
Paul

There is the crem at margam. Only a few feet higher than the works but park up easy and a view up the works towards Neath. There is anothe entrance that you can get close to, have to consult me map but its on the A48 going into Port Talbot. Get back on that. Comes out near the blast furnaces.
Crem at jcn 38. there is a road that leads down to a beach, used to go there as a kid but not sure if its still public all the way.
Central Road off Commercial road in Tai-bach. Leads past a fire station, under a rail bridge and there is a scrap yard. Parking may be a problem, suck it and see but its public access to the yard.

Just remembered, depending on your lense, Margam parc up by the old house should have a nice vista.
The crem road is double yellows but I bet there has never been traffic warden up there. Used to park there for backdrops for the news.
For Commercial road. From memory, drive towards Port Talbot until you come to a junction on lights. Straight on or right. Row of shops either side and an pub/working club on the other right side, straight on and 100yds over a bridge turn 1st right. road bear right again, follow your nose.
