Recommendations of who to fix whining diff, Bridgend/Swansea

Evening,

I'm looking for somewhere to stop the annoying whining from the gearbox in my wifes mk3 MX5.

The noise is a constant 'wheel bearing' type noise and doesn't come/go under load or acceleration and I've had the car up on stands with the wheels off and running it in gear and it sounds like its coming from the bearings at the front of the diff so I don't think it needs a full rebuild, hopefully just the bearing replaced.

I live in Bridgend and work in Swansea so in either town would be ideal so I can drop it off/pick it up easily.

Any recommendation would be great.

Ah, do they do gearboxy type stuff? I hadn't thought of them. I went there following a recommendation from here for alignment a while ago when I was having weird wear on front tyres (which when up on ramps was obvious the tyres seemed be running a bit under inflated, doh!). Andy seemed like one of the good guys. I'll try and pop in there one night this week. I would be ideal if they can do it, my wife works on the same estate so would be easy to drop off.

Would agree with the rec of Avia especially if it's a Mx5. My experience is that Andy is one of the old school who really knows mechanical stuff esp mazdas. Not a plug it in and 'computer says crap' type.

Been taking both my cars to Avia for a few years now. Andy likes the MX5 as well.

As it happens my usual MOT place, that is owned by a family who my family is friends with so have never used anyone else, is closing so I need a new MOT too so may start to be a regular there!
