WANTED - Travel Update Ebbw Vale, Heads of Valleys

I am getting married on Saturday and my future in laws live in Ebbw Vale whilst we live and are getting married West of Carmarthenshire.


At the moment they are looking stuck. Can anyone who lives along the Heads of the Valleys towards the M4 junction at Neath keep me updated on the travel conditions? Also the alternative route from Ebbw Vale to Newport.

I have a very stressed fiancée at the moment.

I'm not directly in the areas you've named but in between and close to the M4. There's a light covering of snow at the moment but the forecast for much of South Wales is the possibility of very heavy snow this evening and into Friday. I'd expect the Heads Of The Valleys area to be worse as it's higher ground. Saturday is supposed to be not as bad in that very little or no snow forecast. It can change very quickly though. Tonight and tomorrow will have a big impact on what happens on the weekend.

The main roads will probably be passable with caution in that area but side roads will be no doubt be extremely difficult to use.
There is great community soirit still in places like that though and I wouldn't put it past the locals to clear the side for them to get them on their way.

We have put a plea on Facebook and the response has been unbelievable. We have someone with a 4x4 who has offered to assist if necessary and I should be able to meet them.
