Anyone indicate in South Wales ?
Discussion
Recently moved from a northern city where the driving standards were ste ( licence/insurance/driving on left - all optional) and turns out new neighbour is petrol head also.
"First thing you need to know, nobody bothers to signal down here" he said.
'Kin Nora, he not wrong.
Signalling around or off roundabout ? Forget it. Left/ right turn ? Nope. Joining/ exiting slip ? Niet comrade.
But strangely they can be bothered to chuck their empty energy drinks and burger bags out the window judging by all the roadside litter

I'm so glad it's not just me that notices this!
I've just moved back to Wales after spending 6~ years in the South East, and the differences in driving in really noticeable.
The Welsh just do not indicate, they also drive noticeably slower, particularly on Dual Carriageways. If I sit at 80 from Cardiff to Merthyr on the A470 it's likely I won’t be passed by single person and there's a significant proportion of people, maybe 10%, who seem quite content to bumble along at <50. People are much less aggressive though, far less likely to force their way into gaps that aren’t really there, don't seem to freak when you overtake and have better (though still poor) lane discipline. Generally it seems like a change of attitude from 'fk you, I and by extension my journey are more important than you and everyone else’s' to 'Oh there's a nice bit of scenery, what are we having for tea tonight...wait what am I doing....oh yeah! driving.....did you know Cerys' is pregnant again?' repeat.

Looks like Cardiff lot are pretty bad at getting caught too:-
Cardiff is second in the UK for having the highest number of drivers on the road with 12 points or more on their licence

driving standard in and around Cardiff are abysmal! I guess i'm shielded from it all in my little valleys village so notice it more when getting to higher congested areas.
Noticed there's a certain type of car and driver in Cardiff that are the biggest culprits - blacked out black German diesel hatch/saloons.
Cant say I notice the lack of indication being any more frequent than when I've been on cross border raids.
I'd put it down to drivers not having the hand free these days to use the indicator due to operating the mahoosive touch systems in the dash, or on the phone, updating social media, or drinking the grande cupahotcoffeechocolatechaiteafrappacrappawhatever.
Bur welcome to South Wales. get used to it or die a slow and miserable (wet probably) death :thumbsp:

Seems the schools aren't much cop either,a white man calling another white man a racist The wife hasn't stopped laughing for a weekNationalism and racism are different entities. As the wife said, if you swim in a sewer, you'll meet a rancid turd pretty quickly.
Don't bother replying with any more vitriolic bile because this was a tester to see the standard of debate and it seems PH has been invaded by McDonalds Chimpanzees also.

One thing I have been told by dem-der foreigners, is that South Wales is terrible for people creeping onto the roundabout, to the point that several thought they were about to be T-boned because the cars joining the roundabout were almost alongside them as they were turning to exit the roundabout.

Jesus, how big is the chip on your shoulder? "People in different regions have different bad driving habits"
"You're racist against the Welsh, leave if you don't like it here, waaah waaah waaah"
People complain about driving standards all over place, both on PH and elsehwhere, if you don't like it choose from the myriad of other threads to contribute to.
We moved back to the Swansea / Neath area 3 years ago following 15 years in the Midlands.
The driving standards are much worse down here and the courtesy to other rad users is really lacking.
I'll always let one car out into queuing traffic. Down here, people look ultra shocked when I do. Almost mistrusting disbelief.
Strange given there's far less congestion in South Wales compared to the Midlands.....?

A470 is littered with camera vans so it's no wonder the locals take it slow. Between 7:00 and 10:00 & 15:30 and 19:00 you'd be lucky to reach 60 mph anyway, one of the busiest roads in Wales.
