South Wales Classic Car Club Meet first Thursday each month
Discussion
I havn't been but you might find its an older cosy crowd. I sometimes go the local car shows and the group you refer to, as well as the Glamorgan Classic Car Club seem to be a bit older generation for me. And also the younger generation groups (eg Superior Rides) are too young for me (like, awesome.....)
It would be good to get together a weekly classic car sports car meetup (1970's and 1980's cars). Say on every Thursday evening at Upper Boat Tesco at 7pm. Somewhere to have a little drive in the car and an hour chat about cars.
Go to the meeting on Thursday and report back.

Thanks for the heads up.
I know exactly what you mean. I went to a local group in the Midlands a few times before I moved, and they were mostly retired and the cruising crowd (ship type cruising not kerb crawlers). I know I'm knocking on a bit but we didn't feel like we fitted in.
I'll pop along and say hello on Thursday though, so if anyone fancies joining me I'll be the one in the corner with (subject to weather) a TVR Chimaera. Let's see how they react to that before I tell them about the P5.
Certainly don't want the "like, awesome, sick" meet.
Not sure I'm up for a meet in a supermarket car park TBH but if we could find a nice pub/cafe that would like a classic/sports car meet.
I see the TVR car club meet at the Red Lion Bonvilston on the second Sunday of each month and although I'm not a member (anymore) I might pop along and say hi.
There must be loads of PHers in/near Cardiff so maybe somewhere just north of the M4. There must be lots of nice pubs with big car parks where we could befriend the landlord and who would be glad of the interest.

The reason I said Upper Boat (south of Pontypridd) Tesco car park is that at the very far end it always seems to be empty. It is separate from shoppers. The other big car park with an empty corner is B&Q at Cardiff Gate.
With a pub car park you are mixing with the general public who might park right next to your car and give it a bash. Some don't like the pub/pint car driving mix. Anyway, there are no big pub car parks by the M4 that I know of.
Just a few thoughts

I went to a meeting with them once, chairman is a customer. Certainly the older crowd, your TVR will be seen as a modern day contraption.
Excellent. How will they view my P5B Coupe? Will be fun to see all the sneering looks. Been there and done that elsewhere. I just treat it like a challenge.Well, that was exciting.
Arrived about 8.00pm -no sign of any classics whatsoever.
Missus goes into the club house and asks. They cancelled it for this month.
If only they had a website on which they could announce that. Maybe with a bulletin board on which they could announce such things at short notice. - Oh, hang on!

Don't think you would Kris.
I was going to go up in my Skoda estate for now as the Rover is still oop north in storage.
If you're interested in old cars they tend to be friendly as they understand that not everybody that would like a classic can run one out of lack of practicality or circumstance. Always good to get, and keep, people interested because one day...
Not all car clubs are like that however. There's a lot of snobbery in certain clubs.
