popping a random Rudry postcode in this page http://www.superfast-openreach.co.uk/where-and-whe... says its enabled in the area, but not rolled out yet, but also doesn't give a time frame either.
Isnt all of Wales supposedly going to be superfast by 2016?
and your lucky with those Robin Reliant speeds! My speedtest results are frequently under 1mgbs
I laugh at the virgin media guy in Cardiff when he offers me a deal, I say to him they aren't in my area yet, he gets confused but looks it up, then is astounded they actually aren't!

even on my sub 1meg speed i still manage to watch movies streamed through my TV and Xbox. Have yet to have anything other than a tiny bit of lag drop me out of multiplayer games too.
I wouldn't touch talktalk! had the displeasure of dealing with them when i moved to my house.
I know your coveting your 40meg that you are getting in Cardiff, but have you run a consistent check on your actual connection speed. if not you might be surprised at how often your down to half or less than your available speed. Just because they say your getting 40meg doesn't necessarily mean you are. a mate use to work for a BT call center, and his no1 complaint was people saying they aren't getting the 20meg they were paying for, his/corporate answer was "if you check our T&C's it states up to 20meg".

I've used BT infinity here in Thornhill Cardiff for the last 2 years and I mainly work from home. I have been getting an average of around 79mbps and upload around 20mbps. Never had a drop in speed and it has never failed, very impressive. This is connecting to the Llanishen exchange.
However almost bought a house a few blocks away (but still Thornhill) which was connected to the Whitchurch exchange and the speed would have decreased to 10mbps so it does depend where you are from the exchange.

I hate you all!!!!
Last time i did a speed test at home I was getting less than a meg
I needed to download Windows 7 to re install on a knackered laptop the other day so tried it at home. its only about a 3.5gb file. estimated download time was 6hrs!!!
Got to work, downloaded it in about 10 minutes! ( I started the download, went to get a snack and by the time I was back it was finished)
the perks of corporate internet!
