As above,

I don't actually need the battery fitting but the last battery I bought (some years ago and no longer have any contact details for the chap) was very reasonably priced and I didn't have to go out and get it. The cars battery seems to be duff now from repeated total discharges and I don't really want to take the car out because it's unlikely to start again.

A search brings up mostly mobile tyre fitters, which I don't need..

Failing mobile does anyone know a good place for 'em?

Cheers guys

Halfords will fit but are rather over priced unless you have a trade card.
What car is it? I may be able to get you a good price and fit it.

Cheers Mikey, one of the boys has a trade card I found out tonight. I'm fine to fit it myself I'm handy enough. It's for an 89 Toyota Celica GT-Four thumbup

Its that time of year for batteries and i'm trying to tie it in with my diagnostics business, but i cant really stock batteries on the van.
I don't like the halfords batteries as a few of them have failed on me and friends recently, I now only tend to fit bosch or lucas or maybe exide. You can get bosch from Halfords BTW.
Funny enough I had an email off TPS yesterday and i'm shocked how cheap they were, so i'm likely to use them for those they can supply (they only supply VAG so a bit limited on a jap battery).

Well I'm more than happy to source from you bud if you can supply. I think the terminals may be a slightly odd size or at least different to VAG. I can give you the make/model of the current battery if that helps?

Oh I need it by the latest Sat morning as it's the Cilwendeg rally Sat and I'm off for a skid biggrin

Jap cars normally run small terminals and/or opposite polarity to everybody else hehe so a standard 063 wont fit...
Shop around a few motor factors you may be surprised, if I was more local (although I do cover Cardiff and Caerphilly areas) I would help out a fellow PH'r but I normally charge a call out fee which for a battery would make it cheaper to go to Halfords wink

Out of curiosity let me know the battery code and i'll see what I can come up with.

Bought a 840 CCA battery this am for £82. Bloody huge thing, but it did start the old trooper.
