Hey DHE, we don't know each other, but would be grateful if you could answer me a business related question. or if anyone else knows the answer it'd be a great help smile

The wife's cousin has decided to get into the mobile valeting gig, and in his typical style has gone out, bought a van and all the gubbins to go with it.
He's looking to get everything in order business and liability wise, but keeps coming up blanks on whether or not he needs a permit for the waste water that goes down the drains? he's been in touch with various council depts who keep referring him to other places and no one really knows the answer!?

So, obviously the question is. Does he need a permit of some sorts for the water being washed down the drains after a valet? and if so could you point us in the direction of where you get one from??

Also, have you ever used anything like this? as if he cant fins anything permit wise, hes going to spend out on one of these to ensure he wont get done.

If you cant answer/don't want to then that's fine. or if you'd rather PM me the answer its up to you.
Your the only person I know (well know through PH anyway) that has a mobile valeting company to ask these things.

Cheers

Ryan

I also have a specialist insurance broker that has a specific policy for valeters, not found another company that does this cover. If he hasn't sorted insurance I would happily pass on the company info.

Got the email Huw! Thanks for all that.

He's based in Maerdy in the valleys and will be mainly covering this area and likely over to Merthyr/Aberdare/Pontypridd areas. I have warned him off your 'turf' biggrin

I haven't asked him about insurance, but will do when I see him.
Could I get the information off you anyway, could be handy if he hasn't sorted it.

Cheers again for the advice! It's appreciated.

I'll try and get to a breakfast meet soon and introduce myself propperly smile
