Black Mountains & Brecon Run, Sunday October 6th

Hi all,

The annual drive is coming upon us again, and the route looks as fantastic as ever.

The groups that are attending so far are; Clio200.net/Cliosport.net & Scoobynet.co.uk and hopefully a nice, good mix from the good old Pistonheads

So the information as follows:

And will be a main stop at the a470, also known as the 'horseshoe bend' so will be meeting there also for those who know it

When: Sunday October 6th.

Time: Meeting there at 9am, ready to leave at 9:30 and start the drive

This is the route, total time is 2Hr 45 Min, 105 miles. Plenty of fuel stops, picture places and food areas.
The scenery is stunning in the Beacons national park areas that we will be driving through.

The attending list on the day is usually massive, so lets get the same again this year.

Under no circumstances is this a 'drive fast and race' meeting, it is simply a day out to enjoy the scenery, take plenty of pictures and have a 'spirited' drive. Anyone who decides to become an idiot will be asked to leave the group

I have been told that the meeting point is a bit chavy, I agree with this, just thought it was a good meeting point and easy to locate as we have people coming from Kent ect.

But I will be trying to get a 'classier' meeting point. Any ideas?

Depends which part of the blacks you are doin tbh and keep the eyes peeled for the unmarked plod on the day they love up that way now

What about cyfarthfa castle good background for a meeting point.

How About the Horseshoe bend on the A470 ? always popular. lots of room for cars, and easy to get a large group to set off without too much fragmentation.
Also if you have a group coming from Kent, J30 on the M4 is good to group up. then set off to the above.
Local folk will know where the horseshoe bend is

Its Dyfed Powys we are talking about now and the route map was posted (now deleted) its well known that the police check out the forum
(with it being an open forum)the last few times i've been up there always unmarked cars about just keep the eyes peeled

Hey guys,

I am a bit of a PH lurker and seen this meet up which I and possibly two friends are interested in attending (work permitting).

Now the down side is we don't have particularly pistonhead worthy cars, especially myself who will more than likely be bringing a diesel convertible (I know...please don't hate me) but are more than happy to attend.

The three of us regularly do road trips, etc including the Brecon roads and would like to meet some more locals.
