Hi All,

I have a Seat Altea XL 2.0 PD TDI 170.

The turbo was changed around 4k ago. I currently have a problem where the car missfires occasionally mostly when joining a motorway and on to a steep hill. The engine management light comes on (flashing) and it nips in to limp mode until i turn the car on and off. 90% of the time the car drives perfectly. The coil light doesnt come on everytime that it miss fires.

The AA can never find any fault codes whatoever. I'm wondering if its a problem with the DPF but honestly don't know.

Any help would be must appreciated.

Cheers

Rich

I have had a number of customers come to me after the local breakdown services have failed to find a code.
Likely to be EGR valve failing/dirty.

You could be looking at £2-300 for an EGR valve and another £40 on top to fit (doesnt take long).
Other option is to get it removed and cleaned, much cheaper but a dirty job and may only be a temporary fix.
You need to get the car plugged in by someone with the right kit, if the light has come on a code is stored.
