Hi All

I'm heading over the bridge next week to, a hopefully sunny, Cardiff for the Bon Jovi concert at the city stadium.
Can anyone recommend somewhere safe to park and which isn't a half marthon walk to the stadium?

I've only parked there during rugby games when I'd imagine it's less busy, but your option are a bit limited.

There's not a lot by the stadium. The stadium itself has parking, and there's a shopping centre nearby at Leckwith interchange with an ASDA ect. Not sure if there's a limit on the time though - have a look on google maps and it's pretty clear.

I've always parked along Hadfield road near all the car dealerships.

The Asda shopping park does have time limits. Believe the football stadium only has 500 spaces but they may open the Athletic Stadium car park across the road. I would look for a side street off Hadfield Road as said above.

Other option park on Cathedral Road and walk up, takes about 30 mins.

I thought they were playing in the millennium stadium not the cardiff city stadium?

If so then there are a few ncp car parks by the stadium or you can usually park in the blues stadium car park at the top of the road.

Ah that's confusing!

If it's the Milennium Stadium, I'd probably go for the St Davids 2 car park who's entrance is opposite the Motorpoint Arena. If you wanted to avoid the traffic in town, you could always park in the bay and walk. It takes about 15 minutes.

EDIT: Ignore above, checked ticketmaster and they are in fact playing the Cardiff City Stadium.

You could always try parking in the bay and walk/taxi from there. It's a good 25-30 minute walk though. 5 mins in a taxi.

Tickets etc say Cardiff City Stadium.

Have an option or 2 via parkonmydrive website, just don't want to be parking in an area where I come back to no wheels or a dodgy new paint job.

It's definitely the Cardiff football stadium, just checked my tickets. If i were you I would go early and park in one of the nearby residential streets. I'll be parking in my works car park a few mins walk away.

There is a two hour limit in the shopping centre car park which is about 200 yards away and has a lot of spaces.

Mrs S got an invoice through the post a few months ago from the parking management company for apparently overstaying our welcome (we didn't).

They have cameras which read your reg on the way in and out so cover your reg on the way in and they can't get you. smile

Ignored the spurious invoice and not heard anything since February.

We're planning on getting there around 2ish as I've got to work until lunchtime. Am looking at the parking at the DFS warehouse if they still have spaces left tomorrow...is it a safe area?

Hi Sandy

Hope you are well. Missing the cakes at Caring with Cars this year, hope to see it back next year smile

All around the stadium is safe enough, just stick to usual common sense approach - don't leave anything on display in car. Not sure where DFS Warehouse is but Hadfield Road area is where I would be looking to park.

Thanks Deb,

It's actually the Furtinute Direct Warehouse now i've just checked again, just off the Penarth Road on Trade Street Lane.

I won't be booking until tomorrow or Friday so still open to any other suggestions from people.

Sandy, you need to be looking at Hadfield Road, Whittle Road, Hadfield Close area.

Trade Street Lane is quite a trek from the Football Stadium (you may be looking at the Millennium Stadium by mistake). The football stadium is on Leckwith Road.

Right stadium...it appears to be the closest paid parking available. Will talk to the others tomorrow and see if they're happy to take the risk of not booking somewhere and try the area you suggested.

I definitely would NOT park on Trade Street Lane. It's mostly industrial/warehouses down there. I wouldn't park my car down there...

If you're willing to park that far just park in the Bay and get a taxi in. There's a big car park on Pierhead street and another on Stuart street near Techniquest.

I'd offer you a lift myself but I'm in Bristol seeing Joe Satriani that night.

Thanks framer...thats perfect info. I don't want to be parking my lovely Cyril anywhere where i could end up coming back to no wheels etc.

I think we'll end up taking the risk of finding somewhere on the day and just trying to park close by.
