Hoping to be departing Rhoose on saturday for a week in the sun. I remain confident I will somehow get there but is there a 4x4 taxi service in these here parts?

It's from Caerphilly so neither do I want to be held to ransom...

Not a huge amount to claim back on insurance (assuming they cover acts of God) but just testing the options really.

I should have bought a damn 4x4 not the Fiesta ST, goddammit.

If the weather forecast is accurate you should be ok by then as there's heavy rain coming in on Friday that will hopefully wash most of the snow away.

Don't hold me to this though. smile

My OH is a nurse and they run a crew cab 4x4 to get the staff to and from the hospital, I guess they will do private hire though I dread to think how much, think her hospital spent 14K on getting staff in through the snow last year, (private hospital, the tax ££££ being wasted!) that's a lot of taxi rides! Give them a go though, seems to work OK for them.

As said I'm sure it will be fine by then. Dare I say Caerphilly Council have been very good and the main routes should be clear by then.

As a suggestion I've just bought some snow socks and they really are a revelation. Driving a BMW 320 I was able to drive both directions of Maesycymmer viaduct. They really are very good!

Thanks for the tips. Managed to get out this morning (following fevered digging last night)so it looks like it's full steam ahead to Gran Canaria on Saturday to see what sun looks like. Woo hoo.
