Hey all

Having done a few rides last year i have the Bug for doing more rides, and of course it benefits charity's.

So far i have signed up for 4 rides so far.

www.Carten100.co.uk ...good ride not to hilly would recommend.

www.bike-events.com/Ride.aspx?id=388 ... this one is new to me, not a massive distance but worth a go

www.wiggledragonride.com/ ... this looks like a tough one plan on doing the 128 miles, and dont for get wales is hilly.

http://www.merlinsportive.co.uk/ also looking forward to this one.

And just to plug here is my just giving pages. Any donations of course would be much appreciated.

www.justgiving.com/f1fx

www.justgiving.com/f1fx-Orchid

Excellent sounding rides and very worthy charities Matt, good luck!

I've been cycling to work for the past couple of years now on an mtb with slick tyres and after getting the bug I got myself a road bike last year. Following the death of my grandfather to Cancer last year I decided to enter a cycling challenge to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care by riding from Cardiff to Dublin in July 2013. (Link to my justgiving page on my profile smile )

I've since been riding more regularly, going out on club rides and I'm now training hard for the event in July.

In preparation I've also signed up for the 116km Audax event in Bristol on 24th March http://audax.lvis.org.uk/ and I'm hoping to complete a 100 mile Sportive event this year as well (Suggestions on recommended events welcome)

My Italian Stallion in sunnier climes:

Cycled off the ferry at Dunkirk and across Belgium in an afternoon to Holland. Had the best tailwind ever! Does anyone here ride with a club?

Many thanks for the donation Matt! thumbup

I've been riding with Ajax since last October. Only at beginner level and Sunday is the only day I can do so not had a chance to try the track yet. Right now I'm just trying to do regular rides with decent miles without pushing too hard or getting injured from over doing it.

Oops forgot about this topic!

I went out with the Ajax last summer a few times on the Sunday rides, it was great fun! Sadly I'm usually stuck in work on Sundays so it's hard to get out with them. I can't wait for the evenings to get lighter and the Newport Flats rides to start again. I'm back on track with my mileage at the moment so should be ready for spring once it arrives! I'll come along to the Ajax the next time I'm off on a Sunday.

What are peoples favourite routes? I've started riding to Usk via Bullmore road instead of going back and forth on Usk road, it's lovely!
