E46 3series steering wheel

A friend has bought a E46 3series and the steering wheel functions don't work. The supplying dealer has given him the part, just looking for info regarding anyone reputable to fit said part. Based in Aberdare.

Does it need to be coded by the dealer?

Not that I'm aware, he has the full sat nav, tv interface and all works fine as do manual controls on dash. It's the steering wheel controls, cruise control, voice activation etc located on the wheel that don't work. I'll check tomorrow on the part he said he was given. I'm hoping he won't need a dealer as he is pretty naive in terms of cars and tends to have his pants pulled down. Internet search seems varied in responses. Thanks for any replies

Is it definitely the steerig wheel that needs replacing? Could be the steering wheel control module.. or the multiplug under the airbag?

Try Euro Performance in Llantrisant. Last time I was there speaking to Gareth he mentioned that he can code most things that need doing on German Marques.
