The MOT for my Caterham is coming up in January and I'm looking for somewhere reasonably local to go the MOT and a few bits and pieces on the car (Add a 12v charger, fix a loud rattle).

I've found Du-Croq Slip in Pontcanna (http://www.lotusport.co.uk/) and they seem like they know what they're doing with kit cars, but I've not found much about them on the net other than one positive experience of them with an old Mini. Does anyone know anything about them?

Other than that I was considering QMech in Bridgend who seem to have a good reputation, though obviously it's a bit further to go!

Hi, if you are willing to travel to Bridgend, then go to Avia!

Can't say enough good things about Andy at Qmech. Take my Lotus (as do loads of Lotus owners I know) to him and my friend takes his Caterham there.

Can be very busy though, usually takes cars to be MOT'd at S&T in Pencoed (again use them for my MOT and tyres) who I would also recommend.

Definately would recommend Andy at QMech. My Caterham has been there a few times.

Just to follow up on this, I took my Caterham to QMech for it's service and MoT and I was very impressed with Andy and his knowledge!

He fixed up what I asked, did the service and MOT, plus sorted a whole bunch of things I hadn't noticed and as a result the car feels ten times better to drive! It was all done for a very reasonable price too. Very happy!

Good isnt he, if difficult to get car in (although I put that down to being a friend and living within few miles of him) sometimes.

Last year my car had only done less than 1,700 miles between services so given the oil was like new he said he would top it up as no need to change it which saved me a few bob, you can imagine what a main dealer would have done, topped up and charged full whack I bet.

Yeah it took a little while to get it booked in, and he had it for two weeks eventually as he had a couple of breakdowns arrive while my car was there - though in fairness to him I said the car wouldn't be used for a fortnight and said he could keep it there if he was strapped for time.

Excellent attention to detail though, and I'll definitely be going back to him in the future
