Our polling cards went in the recycling. I cannot see how another jumped-up *sshole lining his own pockets is going to help anyone.

I intend boycotting it and hope most other people do as well.

You?

I completely agree, the one thing the police force doesn't need right now is another tier of six figure salary earning suits!

Have to agree. After spending a small fortune on a TV awareness campaign that informed us that we would be receiving candidate information in the mail, I have yet to receive anything.

Same here, no idea who I can vote for, let alone who will get my vote, if I can be bothered.

What infuriates me is that all the English Voting papers were ordered to be destroyed for Wales because they had to be in Welsh as well. The estimated cost of this - £350,000.

I'll vote, I'd never waste a vote.
Would spoil it to make a point but would always turn up.
I've chosen who I'm voting for.

Lock up when you've finished. If you're lucky, you won't get mugged on the way home. wink

Technically I have two votes, my father and I have the same name and for some reason they haven't put SNR and JNR this time laugh

I think it's important to still vote whether or not you agree with the purpose of the ballot.
I'd rather have the option to vote than in a country where you have no choice.

don't worry I'm not one of those people that goes around forcing my ideas on others tongue out each to their own smile

After some thought, which included actually investigating who was up against Pres Lott, I have decided that binning it simply looks to the idiots like apathy. I realise that a spoilt ballot counts towards turnout figures, but it passes a small message upwards. If only all voting cards included an option for "none of the above, and skip the next one please". As far as I can see, leaving Belgium without an elected Government for the best part of a year did precisely no harm to the populace.

I'd never suggest wasting a political vote but those who "govern" us are very worried that nobody wants this and fear a very low turnout so in this case, I ma not wont to disappoint them to send a very clear message it's unwelcome.

This is a purely political invention and your taxes will be paying for it if you vote - that's the bottom line.

We've got the EDL leader standing here in Luton. He's currently out on bail.

I'm not sure I could justify ignoring the vote if the fkwit actually ended up in charge of the police (although it would be interesting to see how it panned out - especially if he was then jailed.)

Based on what information. I for one have not received any candidate data whatsoever.

I have our votign slip infornt of me.

I can vote for the following people

D Allen - English Democrats
J Arnott - UKIP
N Bonson - Cons
R Teal - Lib Dem
S Wright - Lab

I'd love to be able to vote and make an informed decision unfortunately not one of these 5 people have deemed it neccesary to deliver any information to my house, nor have they knocked on my door, or made any effort to inform me.

As such i'll either throw them away or scribble all over them and send them back.

I did my own research on the candidates for my area.

Whilst looking at the candidates I did look to see how one becomes a candidate but you needed something like £5000 and would only get it refunded if you achieved 1000 signatures or votes, something like I only briefly looked!

Had a leaflet through from an ex copper who is standing as an independent candidate. He may get my vote on the basis that he has bothered to tell me who he is and what he stands for. Also like the fact that he states he has no political allegiance, which he feels is important to the running of the force.

I got the same note, there's also a website I found with the manifesto of all the candidates in my area. I can't remember the address but if you google the names you'll find it.
