What is the best value "HPI Check?"

I know you can check a car's history by text but they seem possibly a skimpy way of doing it. is there one that covers all bases but isn't stupidly costly.

It seems you can get one for £20 and 5 for £25.

I've been using the RAC car data check for quite a few years now. It's gone up in price like they all have but I always find it covers all the bases which is the main thing.

Do you get any protection or guarantee's with the cheaper options? HPI cover you for upto £30k from memory.
