In the last week there has been a 40 mph speed limit put on the road between Aberthaw and Fontygary, and a 50 mph one on the road between St Athan and Llantwit Major. At this rate I may as well buy a push bike!

Been quite a lot of crashes and a few deaths over the last few years. Has annoyed me a bit to be honest with the road between Llantwit and St Athan, it gets a lot of standing water, the trees are over grown reducing visibility and it is always caked in mud from farmers coming out of the fields. Instead of tackling these issues they just lower the speed limit by 10mph!

It`s about time too, only yesterday a light blue Mondeo came hammering up through, past the monument and only a few feet from my rear bumper. The clown then decided to overtake at the next junction where the road straightens out. Too many accidents have happened including lorries, one actually came through the hedge next to St Athan village eek I`ve lived here in St Athan for 17 years, it`s not the road that`s dangerous it`s the bad drivers tearing along it with blatant disregard for all.

Problem is that although the speed limit might be 50, most tossers along there don't even do that, on a typical sunday when all the micra brigade are off to Ogmore it can as low as 30mph in places, its no wonder people get frustrated and overtake, people are always hung up about speed, its not speed that kills it's piss poor driving, you can drive fast and be safe, problem is that there are too many crap drivers on the roads that just don't think ahead and are oblivious to anything but their own little bubble
