I'm looking for a good gearbox specialist in the south wales area who can do a rebuild for me.

does anyone know of somewhere?

We've spoken to them today about a diff we require rebuilding - having seen the details here, not a company we could use unfortunately.
Any ideas re diffs anyone?

I've heard a few stories about them, all third party so unable to confirm or deny, none have been positive.

Thanks DHE, they have just told me they cant do my Audi anyhow...

They recommended some John from Manual Transmissions in Swansea, anyone have any info on them??

Think you are after John at http://www.manualgearboxrepairs.co.uk/ do beleive he is known locally as John the box.

He did a manual box for me in a volvo in 2009, was making a dreadful noise, renewed the full bearing set, drive in and out service car back within days. Cheaper than any other option I could find and no problems since.

I would return as I was more than happy with the service and result.

Agreed and Playo have used John the box for years always does a great jobhe really knows his stuff

Had my gearbox rebuilt by Jon last week first class job(and very reasonable cost) cant reccomend him more highly
