Hi,

Does anyone now of a good BMW independent near Cardiff?

I contacted one in Barry for service quotes for my E39 M5 and they asked if it was a manual or diesel/petrol!!

Not confidence inspiring despite the glossy website.

I used to take my E30 M3 to Bryn Motor Works behind Swansea BMW.

Small garage but they know their stuff, and use genuine BMW parts.

Thanks. I used to use Autotech years ago for my Dad's 7 series, I find their prices quite high now and they're a bit to far from me. Have you used B & R?

Used Autotech for my E36 Alpina and then my E30 M3 back in the late 90's/00's, they weren't the cheapest back then but I found Tony (proprietor) and the lads were always very thorough and always explained to me where my money was being spent.
Wouldn't hesitate in using them again in the future when I eventually buy another BMW...

Phil - I've used them in the last 2 years (on my two E30's and my E39 touring). They are very, very thorough, they handle everything (engine rebuilds etc) and they definitely know what they are about.

I live about 30 minutes from them (via backroads). I have now found a chap in Pembroke whom works on historic racing cars at the weekend (gets flown out by the owners all over the UK and Europe) and sprints his own E30. He's a one-man band - I'll pass his name on if you want. He's having my E39 in Feb for a week with a list of stuff (inspection 1, new exhaust etc) to sort. I was going to get my suspension refreshed by a chap called 8 tech on here (he's based in Surrey - I work in London during the week) but this has now taken precedence unfortunately.

Thanks for the reply but if Wembley are good then I'll pass on that information as they're very local to my parents who own an E90.
