Anyone see Ralio+ this week and the feature on Endaf Owens from Carmarthen?
May still be showing in the next few nights if you missed it. There's Ralio footage on the Brands Hatch race here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbHY8SA7Y5I

Endaf won the Mini Miglia Championship this year, one of the most competitive racing series, with a history going back to 1966.

Endaf is very kindly supporting a charity event at Castle Combe next Saturday, where you can get in the car for a passenger ride with him. See: www.stroke.org.uk/supercarsaturday for details. 100% to charity.

Over 60 cars to choose from, £5 admission and rides from £20. Bring your own helmet if you have one but free loan available if you don't. Gates open 08:45.

Totally heroic, travelling from Carmarthen for each round meant he was driving hundreds of miles extra. Imagine the round trip to Croft for example! Self-prepared car as well, all things considered a big achievement.

Come along to Castle Combe on Saturday and get a ride in the car with him for a donation to charity: www.stroke.org.uk/supercarsaturday

Should this Supercar day have it's own thread on the South Wales section?
Cheers

Sorry Stuart it was obvioulsy me that missed the point there...

You will have a fantastic day out. My big tip is "ask lots of questions" the drivers are all more relaxed than at a race meeting plus that's the best way to find out what's going on. Kids want to sit in a car in the paddock for a photo? Ask. Wonder what an Autosolo is and how you can take part? Ask. The day is intended to give people a chance to get closer to some great cars and terrific people than would normally be the case.

Look forward to seeing you all along on Saturday.

Nice one YF biggrin

A few years ago at an http://www.alfaholics.com/ day at CC I had a passenger ride in an old but very fast Alfa 105 GTV & my stomach was up in the air for the rest of the day great fun.
I have done a few track days but the best one was at Donington with an instructor by my side I new then that I new nothing about what my car could do biggrin
The boys are all 15 & think they know it all I can't wait to see there faces tomorrow biggrin
Cheers YFsmile

Good day out today, weather great if a bit of a cold wind! Those Radicals were insane.

Thanks to everyone who came along to support the event. It is a unique opportunity to get rides in a tremendous variety of cars - which calls for recognition for all those people who bring, run and drive cars all day, completely at their own cost to raise money for the Stroke Association. One of the Radical teams told me they ran 130 litres (£180 worth) of fuel through the car during the day and lost count of the number of laps they did!

My personal thanks to everyone operating event who, apart from three Stroke Association staff in the ticket office, are all volunteers who give up a day of extremely hard work to look after everyone taking part. If anyone wants to volunteer to help organise and run the event next year, get in touch!

End result was a very good amount of money raised, many hundreds of people who had great experiences and everyone went home safe.

A huge thanks to everyone for coming together to make a special day in a good cause.

Richard,

thanks again for the invite to the day, both Endaf and myself had a good time taking passengers around, it's a shame we both broke our minis. Endaf killed the gearbox, and my crank tirgger wheel to a bid for freedom.

I only managed to put the camera in for one session before I broke it frown
