Pistonheads Needed for Photography Project
Discussion
Hopefully this isn't against the rules, apologies if so!
I'm in the final year of my Documentary Photography degree, for which I'm working on a long term project on the car enthusiast. I'm fascinated by the relationship to the car, particularly those who show an active interest in it. The project aims to take a detailed look at the world of each owner, each photograph is carefully set up and lit.
I've been photographing for a few months, however I don't feel like I am fairly representing the subject, something that really is my duty if I'm documentary! It would be great to get some involvement from the Pistonheads community too so the project can offer a more rounded account of the car enthusiast. It's good to photograph in the evening, the whole process takes about 1 hour and everyone gets an A3 print for taking part. I'm based in Cardiff but travelling isn't an issue. I'm free almost everyday. Any car/garage/driveway/lock-up is welcome. Even if your car is parked on the road, I'm pretty good at shuffling lightstands around now!
In July the project will be exhibited in London, I'll be sure to invite all participants!
Here are a few images so far:

UWCN? I studied Documentary Photography there in 96 when Paul Seawright and Clive Landen were lecturing. Have many good memories from that time. A group of us ended up driving down to London in a mini bus to exhibit at a college.
You're more than welcome to come and photograph the Chim, in or out of the garage.

mei - That's the one! I had a seminar with Clive just last week. Pete Davies retired last year and the other tutors are Ken Grant & Paul Reas. Dennis is still ruling the darkrooms too.
Email sent back. Always got on with Pete; thought he was a nice bloke.
Good to hear the darkrooms are still running as I thought they may have given in to digital. I used to use a 1957 Linhof 4x5 camera with 5 plates per shoot. Processing was a nerve racking experience, mostly resulting in utter disappointment.
