Has any one ever noticed.......

Ive just removed the spoiler on my 1984 350i (460i) to fit a higher capacity rad, and has any one ever noticed how gooood the front of the wedge looks without the spoiler. I am considering moding the front and rad and leaving the spoiler off. Has any one ever tried this

Yes many a time... usually after I have smashed it competeing. The biggest problem is that the front then becomes ever so light and the car will literally start to lift at around 90 mph and gets very scary over 100. I have a air dam spoiler behind the front spoiler and splitter to help control this and without this, the car is very very lively indeed.
I have also thought of ditching the spoiler but having experienced it the improvements it makes, I definitely have one but mine are now made from aluminium and plywood and have joined the long list of consumables.
With it the car is faster. Without it slower, so for me the decision is simple. Keep it.
