I haven't seen the prices of TVRs do anything but drop or at least stay the same. My 280i is still worth about the same as I paid for it seven yeas ago. Which I suppose due to inflation means that it's actually worth less.
Taimars & 3000Ms are still the same price they always were (maybe a little cheaper) and Griffs and Chimps are still falling.
I think it's the fact that Griffs & Chimps are still undergoing normal (new car) devaluation that ensures the price of everything else continues to fall.
I wonder what will happen after that though? The new breed of TVR do not appear to be cheap enough to run on a secondhand budget (buy a Cerb for £10K and spend £10K on repairs in the first year? I don't think so), and the price of Cerbs seem to reflect that.
I reckon All the good old Rover engined models are going to hold steadier than the later stuff, but that doesn't mean they'll ever rise in value.
The TVR's to watch for me are:
S3 & S4 - Reputation for being well sorted & cheap to run.
V8S - Always be a bit special because of it's rarity but watch out cause cheap Griffs & Chimps will force it's value down.
400SE (also 450 etc.) A top choice. If any V8 TVR will retain value it'll be these babies! But they are still dropping at the moment so look out for bargains!
