400se Disks what should I do people ! ?

Hi all,
When ( if !! ) I ever get my 400 back on the road I’m going to have to change the front disks because there is a shimy in the pedal. Last years MOT would have failed on the rolling road if I had not been a mate of the tester because of this.
Question is if there is enough meat on the Discs is it worth having them skimmed or should I go for new Discs ? How much are new Discs ? Where can I get hold of them ? What are they like to fit ( I have Steve’s Bible but it’s in the cold garage! ) ? Are they easy to get off ( the Disks ! ) ? And more importantly get back on !!

dont buy the discs i got there a pain to fit get
the tvr standard discs and uprated pads i think there
about 140 pounds a disc plus pads but dont buy the brake kit from tv there a job to fit and a lot of mods needed to fit there not up to the money they cost and
made bad hope this helps

If they are warped, replace them. Easy enough to fit despite what others may say - I've done it about 6 times now. Undo calliper bolts and remove, undo hub bolt remove hub, unbolt disc, replace disc, bolt up disc, replace hub. That is if you have a solid disc. If you have the bell and rotor option then these are seperated and the rotor only replaced if you can get them. Take note of exactly the bits were put together as there may be shims and spacers as brake supplies were very what's the word interesting at the time the cars were made and do vary dramatically.
Budget a couple of hours and it is not far off it as there will always be a stubborn bolt or two. Use copper grease where the discs mate onto the hub and so on.
Replace the pads as well.

C J Morgan, for goodness sake give it a break! You are unhappy with TV, but many more people are very happy with them. This site is not the place to moan about something, talk to TV directly! If you continue in this way I would not be surprised if PetrolTed gives you a red card.
