Some days ago we discovered that the fuel hose was leaking. Or actually: It was spraying!
But I discovered also that the original hose isn't available anymore. I've heard that a "normal" hose isn't strong enough, because it has to resist a certain pressure.
What kind of fuel hose can I use for alternative?

Hi, the fuel hose i used was 5/16 bore fuel injection hose from a motor factors, this hose is made to withstand the high pressures of the fuel injection pump(about 36 psi) which is considerably more than the normal hose used with carbs where the system is about 4-5 psi, places like wedge automotive will sell you the correct hose but may be fairly expensive, but at least it will be the right stuff, when i bought my hose the shop tried to sell me the normal low pressure stuff because the guy behind the counter didn't know the difference.

For me it isn't that easy to order by wedge automotive, because it perhaps takes some time before I get it. In the Netherlands it isn't really a booming bussiness...
It's a lot easier for us when we know what we need, so we can buy it by a local (Ford) dealer.

Tell your local dealers its for a fuel injection system (take a bit along to show them). There is usually a pressure figure printed on the hose. Personally I would get the expensive stuff as I don't want a mobile BBQ.

Go to a hydraulic hose company and get a benzene (unleaded) tolerent hose reinforced hose. Tell them it is for a car fuel system. The stuff I use on the Wedge is rated at 150+ psi and is pretty standard fitting.

Well, I'm happy I'm not that worse at math...In Holland we work with "bar"...
But now I know that we did the right emergency purchase. The fuel hose can stand 100 spi (7 bar) so we won't be BBQ-ing by the site of the road.

At last:
For people from the continent, like me, it isn't always that simple to find the right parts. We found the right hose by a dealer in truck parts. And after comparing we found out that the bore isn't 5/16 but 3/16 inch
