400 Bodied SX For sale?
Discussion
It's an excellent car - I drove it in it's heyday. It was the dealer demonstrator and is the one featured in most of the books. It's top spec and the mileage is half what mine has done. They are quite easy to run - and Team Proactive in Birmingham - who have been servicing and fettling mine since 1990 have a good spread of experience. I reckon that if the car is in good condition (check the clutch!) the pricve is fine. It isn't the only 400 bodied car by the way - I have photos of another , word of one more and partial details of two 390 SX's
Have you found any disadvantages to the supercharger Jasper? Also, how much boost do you run and how does the torque curve look espec bottom end? Been talking to an old friend who's about to fit an M90 to his 5.2, think we have got the cam/overlap issue sussed and twin SUs with pressurised float chamber is an elegent solution to the fuelling. This sort of thing would add up to maybe 100 BHP to the 4.6 without too much work, transmission permitting. Hmmm ...

My SX is standard so the boost is not that high, power is about 270 BHP and 260 lbft of torque. All comes in quite low down and it will pull away in 5th gear no problem, no hiccup. Touch wood reliability has beeen OK. Thge SX's all had 400 spec running gear and SEAC drive shafts so they're up to the job. The car curently for sale should be fine - although heavy use will mean the need for a clutch change!
