1982 400SE ?? anyone help !
Discussion
I own a tvr which appears to be a 400SE, but it was registered on 01-10-1982 which makes this impossible. The chassis number is DHS2380-2L and the engine number WSS4271-4. It is finished in metalic black. Does anyone know if these numbers check out as 1982, or has anyone either owned this car or carried out any modifications to it. Any help greatly appreciated.
Ian
How long have you had the car ,as this may be the car i phoned up about at Brundells earlier in year before i bought my 450se.If this is the car ,the salesman was quite unsure what he,d got was told it was built for an ownner who built it for track days and traded that car and i think a Griff in for a Masarati.Hope this may be of some help

Ian, the "2L" suffix on your chassis number would indicate it was originally
built as a 2 litre car. However, the
rest of the chassis number as you
list it (DHS2380-2L) does not
correspond with any other such cars
of that vintage in my wedge registry.
Also, as you no doubt know, the 400SE
did not enter production until around 1988.
Perhaps contacting Mervyn Larner,
model registrar for the TVRCC, might
provide further information.
