I aint checked it out recently, but TVRCC Sweden has a 6litre plus tasmin (I think convertible) on their website (see link from TVRCC (or it was before they changed it all)).

Except for a few Summer months, the Swedish roads aint that good for any TVR, never mind a Wedge on steroids - just bear in mind that they all really are a touch crazy.

JNA,

Hi - I emailed Magnus @ the TVR Sweden club - he unfortunately couldn't help but has forwarded the request to someone who maybe can.

Will let you know if I get any response.

Cheers
Seamus

The only info I could find quickly, is this short article...although I'm not sure whether this is the one you were on about.

Hmmm, I've had a good look and can't find it either. I've been through all the websites I would have looked on and have checked all my books incase it was not online.

The only sources I can't check are the TVR Register on www.ratsey.com/tvr which seems to have gone off line.

All I remember was a photo and a note that it was in Sweden. I remember it because at the time I was spending a lot of time in Sweden and any TVR is a bit of a stupid vehicle in Sweden, never mind ordering a loony Wedge.

All I can suggest is an email to ratsey.com asking is they could check their archived register, and of course an email the TVRCC Sweden who may know something (couldn't find their link on the new TVRCC website, but yahoo etc will easilt locate).

Dear Chaps,

I sent an article that I found in my bedside cabinet 4 years after I left my parents home, on the 660 SEAC to the TVRCC archive bloke. The article was originally from the Blackpool Evening Gazette "wheels" motoring supplement, Wednesday March 18th 1987. I had cut the article out and kept it before rediscovering it in my bedroom in early 1997, and forwarded to the TVRCC as no one I had talked to believed me that there was a 660 SEAC. It would be great if we can track down this mystical beast.

If anyone is interested the article was published in the August 1997 edition of Sprint, I obviously still have a copy (it took some finding!!), I can photocopy it if you send me your address to:-

Hi! As a owner of a 420 SEAC and living in Sweden and secretary of the Swedish TVR Car Club I know the history about the TVR 660 SEAC sold to Sweden.
The car has a not so nice history, but I will not mention it here. In dark blue metallic with grey leather interior the car came to Sweden and of course it needed some "adjustments". A friend of mine, one of the best racing car engineer in our country got the job to have the car pass the Swedish MOT. But first it was shown at the Motorshow in Malmoe in 1987 with a huge high rear wing at the boot. Then the car was put onto the rolling road and showed a healthy 580 bhp at 5.500 rpm, amazing. It was so powerful and nearly impossible to drive on the roads. When slipping the clutch at 1500 rpm the wheels began to spinn hopelessly. Clutch did not last many miles either. To cope with the power TVR did fit a complete rear axle from a Jaguar XJS. The Donovan 6,6 litre all aluminium engine was taken out and replaced with a small block chevy which showed "only"330 bhp. With that engine the car passed MOT. The Donovan engine was then stripped and checked, just to verify the bits in it and only the best was used. The engine was then up for sale, and it was big interest among the Drag Racing people here, but none had the money. The car and engine was delivered to Stockholm in 1988 and was standing there in a garage with the engine for sale.
A chap with a Corvette heard about the engine and was there to lock at it, as he wanted it for the Vette. But, behind the engine was the blue SEAC standing and as he was a "good guy" he did not want the two separated so he ended up with both the engine and SEAC.
I talked to the guy three years ago and he was then trying to detune the Donovan engine to around 400-450 bhp and put it back into the SEAC. The car was not for sale then, as I tried to buy it. And he did not join the club either. I still have his phone number and address if anyone out there want a try.
Cheers, Kalle

Was this Donovan engine based on a Small block Chevy?

i.e. an alloy small block - 580bhp expensive but not dificult to get from one of these. The dimensions are surprisingly similar to a Buick Rover lump.

Holden is Chevy.....

Someone should try this with an alloy block and heads - should be fairly straight forward apart from finding th cash for the all Alloy motor - imagine the noise on side pipes, 450 bhp 6.0 litre Chevy / Holden.
