Boot lights in a G reg 400
Discussion
It's probably a bit late in the day for this jmorgan, but anyway....
the boot lamp units are from the triumph spitfire mk 4/1500 (approx. £10 each) and are connected directly to the loom supplying the tail lamps, so they only come on (and stay on even when the boot is shut) when your lights are on.
If you haven't got it sorted yet and are handy with a multi-meter try the bulb for continuity (meter goes beep if it's ok, but then you knew that). If it's ok switch the lights on and test for voltage between the two connectors to check for a break in the circuit. If there's none and your tail lamps are working it should only be a bad earth or connection somewhere around the wires supplying the boot lamp. (you probably knew that too).
cheers........

Cheers, no probs with a meter here. Sort of got side steped with other things but I am thinking of changing the lights and fitting a pin switch so that it only comes on when the lights are on and the boot open. Also one of my lights is behind the changer so a new hole required, if I have to cut a new one I can also enlarge/alter the other.
