Wedge Radiator's
Discussion
Has anyone replaced the Radiator in a Wedge.
I've done one on a 400SE and the cost for a std recore
was about £110 about 5 years ago..
What is the cost of a 4 core or a alloy replacement.
Does alloy offer better heat dicipation or is it just
lighter.
Someone also mentioned that it would be a good idea to move the fan sensor from the stupid position at the side of the radiator to the metal top pipe - anyone
tried this.
Thanks.

Co-incidentally I've just done this job, chiefly because I was offered a free ally rad, but the advantages are: better heat conductivity - therefore better cooling for same size and lighter weight.
In my case my 'free' rad is enormous! and I had to cut parts of the sploier away to get it to fit and I'm having to blank portions of it off to achieve 80°C in normal driving.
If your're interested I have the original 4 core steel rad for sale, recently re-cored yours for 50 quid...

I'm in Northampton and its a standard size unit which was originally a 3 core but they managed to squeeze a 4 row in when it was re-cored about 6 months ago. It used to keep my 4 ltr lump cool enough but the ally rad was free so....

Matt - thanks very much for going out of your way to
drop off the radiator.
I'll be fitting it this weekend.
After all the money I've spent on the SEAC in the last month - I'm dying to get out on the road.
Stainless - the SEAC is looking better and better.
I'm had a few improvements made :
Avo adjustable shocks all round
New springs
New Power steering pump
Goodrich stainless brake hoses
Tarox fast road pads (all round)
Rear calipers reconditioned
New brake master cylinder
New fan belts
Goodrich stainless oil & fuel hoses
Full 24K service
Refurbished OZ wheels
4 * S03's
and I'm champing at the bit to get out and drive
the beast but first - I've got to fit a replacement
