Fitted a roll bar to the Tasmin 200. One of the drawbacks is that I now have to move or modify the boot opening cable that was located behind the drivers seat. I thought this may be a good opportunity to fit a solenoid and button that some of the 'posher' Wedges have fitted.
Does anyone know what the solenoid is off and any pics of how it hangs together.
I am sure I could spend a few hours designing this and sourcing the bits but there are other jobs I would rather spend the time on.....like wiring in the ECU so I can finally get the engine started. Thanks.

Mine is screwed to the boot lip and pulls a 3-4 inch cable to latch. Sits under the trim and just replaced a broken one with a new one from Penninsular. Can take piccys if required but it is straight forward. Only hard bit you may have is cabling.
PS had it set up to a secondary function on the alarm fob.

mine is similar to JMorgan's MY boot release button does not latch so you have to keep it depressed while you open the bootlid.
I replaced the cable on mine with a cycle brake cable from halfords Kiddy bike spares. The solenoid can be purchased from places like Maplins, or maybe people like Tower View / Peninsula etc have a stock of them.

Then its just a case of wiring it up to a power source nd a button.

Does anyone have any info on this? Does it use a remote key fob or is there a lock on the car?

Thanks for the replies.

There is a sensor behind the number plate,or rear light cluster, and small actutor in the key fob. It was originally designed for a Griff or Chimaera but iam sure it can be adapted. It means on those cars disarm and then pop the boot open by moving the key fob near to it.No need to go in the car. TMS would be able to advise better.
