Ok, I expected it,really, but tday was the first time the 350 has stood in rain without its cover, and thre was a small leak on the drivers side door.
It seems to be coming in around the bottom of the back of the window where there is that little leather flap.
I noticed that on the passenger side (which was almost bone dry), the leather flap is positioned further rearwards than on the drivers side. I have two diagrams to show what I mean:
drivers door

passengers door
www.fotango.com/cgi-bin/public_gallery_item.cgi?id=254382&index=0&key=
The leather flap appear to intrude inside the car on the drivers side, and it seems to actually carry the water into the inside of the door seal, whereas on the passenger side, the door seal trap the very edge of the flap, and so water is carried down the outside of the seals.
Where do these flaps lie on other wedges? And are they waterproff in this area? Could it be that my seals are a bit short?
Any suggestions at al about any ways anyone else has used to get a bit of water tightness in this area would be greatly appreciated.

Mine go on the outside 'twixt door rubber and door.
Exposed here. Shows the position and it works.
Also cut outs in the rubber about 2 inches long, one towards the front and on the rear on the bottom of the door seal at the sill. Lets out any water that might collect here and spill into the cab.

So you get the flap on the outside of the car?
How does that work? With the way mine is put together, if I try to put them as it appears in your picture, the flap does not cover the door joint. It gets horribly twisted by the window, and doesn't lay flat at all, but sort of sticks up, messy fashion, providing no protection at all. Same on both sides.
The only alternative would be to try to get the window *inside* the hood rear section rubber, and that would require twisting the glass and window mechanism to a horrible degree, probably breaking something.
Is my hood put together wrong? (Oh for a digital camera!
I might take my scanner outside
) Or maybe there's something about these hoods that I don't know?

Sorry, not clear in my reply. It sits between the door rubber and door. Just lifted the hood a little to show where it was and looked like for another thread here
It directs the water down the outside of the door seal but behind the door if you get me?
Upshot is that flap would be behind the door at that point like your pass side seems to be
.
As for hood shots, ask me to take one, you can look at it and say/see if yours matches at any points you have a querry?

Mark, thanks. I'm away pretty much all weekend at one place or another (and missing the cup final because of it
)
If I can't firgure out what's going on, then I'll take you up on that offer one evening next week...?
It sounds to me from what Jeff is saying, like my drivers side flap is a bit far forward, as his come behind the door seal and a re dry, and my passenger side is only just caught by the seal, and that is dry as well.
I've tried holding the flap whilst closing the drivers side door so that it is not caught behind the seal, and comes, as it were, inside the door skin, but outside the door seal, but after trapping my fingers a few times
I gave up on that idea.
