oil priming after lay up

Chaps, what is the best way to fire up a wedge after a 5 month layup? I was hoping just to drop plugs and crank over for a few minutes with remote starter to ensure oil pressure, but after seeing previous threads about oil pump drives and priming of pump i thought i would ask the experts.

I usually just turn mine over a few times to make sure then fire it up. donot rev until oil pressure is seen on the gauge and let it warm up gradually whilst making sure the oil pressure is maintained. its probably not in following the text book, but it has worked for me so far.

you should know within 5 seconds on the guage
if there is no pressure. If none - turn it off !!
