Do you mean the pot on the side of the plenum?

LandRover bit; about £90

I phoned Lucas direct and it was about £60 + VAT IIRC.

You can do a rough test on the pot with a multimeter, but a better way is to set up a test rig with a PSU and some resistors and hang a 'scope on it. Then you can see the effects of a dirty pot track. The pot is supposed to be hermetically sealed.
The problem I had was that the wires had hardened with age/ heat etc. and snapped off at the point where they enter the pot body. I used a mini-drill with a burr to get at the solder lugs inside the pot, attached new wires and it works a treat.
The pot has to be pretty badly trashed to be unsaveable. In my case, the ECU defaulted to its basic setup and ran so well it was several weeks before I realised there was a problem. The later 'hot-wire' injection relies on the pot more but I presume you have a 4CU ECU with the flap-type airflow meter so it won't significantly affect the running. If it's really rough, it's probably something else (water temp sensor?).

As Ian says, just unplug it and see how it runs.

There are 2 sorts, the earlier ones are pretty crappy and are no longer available. I have a mail with the procudure to recondition them if you need it - not that difficult.
