I read somewhere, on here I think, that by fitting the air flow metre and injectors from a V12 Jaguar to a 350i that you would get more power from it. Does anyone know if thats true or not, and is there anything else you need to do, or is it that simple?

Not quite that simple as you need a bigger plenum and an ECU rechip and possibly bigger injectors. Covered in the Wedge bible and details on www.t-v-r-services.co.uk under engine upgrades. Did this on my 390 before doing it correctly and dropping a 5.2 specila in it....

Thanks Steve, time to buy your book I think. Any other quick cheap tips for a bit more power? I have just ordered a new hood and am having the interior done on it so cash is in short supply at the minute!

A short trumpet base from ACT or similar is a pretty good performance/ pound mod or a change of camshaft.
Bear in mind tho that the ECU will need re-mapping to get the best out of either of these.

You can just fit the injectors & air meter,.
but would recommend a rolling road set up.
BTW the 350 injection isn't hotwire so you can't remap. you would also need adjustable fuel pressure regulator.
It may cost more than you think ?

I can get the bits from the V12 F.O.C. So maybe £100.00 for the rolling road plus the fuel regulator? How much difference in BHP and Torque would you expect from that?

You say FOC but i would recommend that (if you are going for second hand injectors) are cleaned as they are bound to be from an old car, £12 each
Regulator is £65 +VAT (also known as boost valve).
Rolling road 1 1/2 hrs so allow £150
The meter will need a modification to the mounting , but electrically the same connection .
Gains would be mid range torque & possibly 5 or so bhp.
you would also need to reduce tension in the meter spring but fine tuning would be done on a rolling road

There is no cheap way to extra BHP.... Budget £100 per bhp and you will be not far off and then major increases will need brakes and suspension improvements so it is easy to spend a lot of money very very quickly. Trust me been there... still using the credit card points....

It would be worth a dyno session to see if your engine is infact healthy.

My SEAC has always felt fast (it's the noise ), but the dyno showed it way down on power. Turned out the cam was shagged. Replacing the cam should release a load of horses for not much money (fingers crossed).

Steve said £100 per BHP, this is a good general guide line, but the first 5-20 bhp can be cheaper, when you want to continuously increase power it gets really expensive.
The flapper injected cars offer more adjustment via fuel pressure which only costs the price of a reulator if you don't already have one.
on a big wedge its possible to get over 10bhp for under £500 inc rolling road session. but the next 10bhp may cost twice this.
So basically if your happy with a small increase go for it its good value. if you want an extra 50 bhp its an arm and a leg..

Im fitting nitrous oxide for more power, works out around £730 for extra 150bhp with progressive controler so you can dial in the power without shredding the tyres! Obviously not always in use, but good fun. Check out www.noswizard.com makes an interesting read in the forums section.

Cheers all, I think I will do the V12 stuff and look into changing the cam. Dare I ask which would be the best one to go for? I can fit it myself so its only the parts cost, which I don't think will be to wallet destroying.

I see there is a supercharger for sale in the classifieds of the wedge pages as well, needs a fitting kit though.

Is it just the airflow meter from a V12 that fits or
will one off a 3.6 or 4.0 do it?

Just to confuse matters, The larger meter comes from the 4.2 XJ6 s3, the later Jags had different injection .
