Stainless Exhaust Manifolds
Discussion
The mild steel manifolds on my 400 are getting a bit corroded and I am thinking of replacing them whilst the car is dismantled for chassis renewal.
I am contemplating stainless steel manifolds but have heard some comments that stainless ones are more likely to crack.
My own experience with stainless manifolds on a V6 engine in a Scimitar is good, but the TVR is a mightier beast.
TVR is in relatively standard trim and will be used on road with the occasional track day.
Any experience or thoughts from PistonHead members using stainless manifolds would be welcome.

I am also planning to get stainless steel manifolds fitted to my wedge. My prevoius experience has been with JP exhausts (I think now available through ACT performance parts). I had a pair of their s/s manifolds fitted to my 3000M for over 10 years. Beautifully made and no problems. However similar engine to your scimitar, so it would be interesting to hear from any V8 owners.
I have had the stainless manifolds that i made on mine for about 18 months now with no problems. i have probably only done about 5k but the roads around here are quite bumpy and i do drive it as it should be driven....fast. Go for it, they look lovely once thayv'e discoloured as well
