Another interesting thing at RT Racing. They have an immaculate low milage 400sx in there. Must be a fairly rare beastie. It's like a metallic ice blue and looks luvly ! and it's for sale ! Does anyone know of performance figures for the 400sx or bhp. Would there be much difference in performance between my 400 and a 400sx ? Don't know how much they want for it though .... Would the Supercharger put any undue stress on the motor ? Are Superchargers reliable ?

This is almost certainly a one off. The supercharging of the 350 was supposed to add about 30% so on that basis it would add a very usefull 80bhp. Supercharged TVRs are too rare for any problems to be well known. Go for it and have some fun.

It's certaintly a nice car but I think i'll stick with my plain old 400. I would be interested on any info though. It would be nice for it to be sold locally. I'll be asking the mates !

Website is www.rtracing.co.uk but there will probably be no one there until in the morning. They probably close at dinnertime. You could try his mobile on 0705 0029880. Let me know how you go on !

Steve it's a standard 400se shape. Not the SEAC shape. Must be pretty quick though. It's a lovely colour. I might nip in again myself next week and have a good look at it.

The garage is on Baily Street. I'm crap at directions so you would be advised to look at a route planner. The car is inside under a dust sheet so you would have to go in. Nothing to see outside.

Don't know I'm afraid. It has all the stickers etc. but I know that can't really count for anything. Best thing to do is nip along and have a good gander at it. Some of the mechanics look a bit scary but they are top blokes and I'm sure they can answer any questions !!

Hi Steve,
Theres a bit in the bible about them, I think its Haughlins (TVR Dealer and tuning specialist) who created them and it was a very expensive kit.
Got to be quite rare though, I've not herad of another 400sx.
Gareth.
PS what was the seac like?
PPS I don't suppose you have any stainless steel left? I've made a bit of a mess of drilling the holes in one if the tank straps!

I heard a rumour that 3 400sx's were built, although I have only ever seen 2x 350sx's and one blue (mica?) 400sx. TVR never supercharged it, it was done by haughtins (sp)estemate 80 bhp increase over standard. very rare and desireable.

yep haughins were the guys. have seen the car in question at RT myself .. has had a pampered life from what I saw, done minimal mileage and well looked after. whatever price it is buy it .. it's a piece of TVR history and sure to gather a crowd wherever it's parked with the bonnet open.
you know you want it ...
