Anyone ever tried to repair a broken roof panel tab?

The plastic on one of mine broke off revealing the steel centre and I'm trying, without success, to come up with the best way of repairing it.

Minor I know but I don't fancy losing the roof one day.

A couple of mine were mising when I bought the car and I just glued a section of cycle inner tube around the metal stubs.
