Wedgefest 2025 update
Discussion
Hi
After many factors the numbers are very low for this year and so have had to cancel some attributes of the event, but at least we can still have a meet, people can book with the hotel and still come to join the convoy to the 80's mania FREE event on the Saturday morning.
This years event will consist of the Friday night meet & Greet, the convoy to the Free event Saturday morning, then back to the hotel for late lunch or eating in the restaurant from a set menu for an evening meal, those who have already paid are safe and if others wish to join us then you ideally need to just fill out that part of the booking form and pre-pay the £42 pp, there will be no Sunday venue but people can still attend the festival of transport who have paid to exhibit or i can refund you given 4 weeks notice.
So a scaled down fest is probably best for now, we can gauge interest for next year and possibly collect a consensus on a date.
Kindest regards
Mark

Won't you just get the same result and the same next year. You're the 2nd person to try and organise this year's, with different dates, events, but the same result.
I think the sad truth is that these kind of events are a thing of the past now. The Griff Growl went. The S Club Eurotour has 5 posts on the forum. S Club Heaven has about 20 cars. The TVRCC Woollaton Hall event had 2 posts on the forum. Another club was wound up this year and refunds provided. The trackdays struggle to fill, and Porsche owners have to make up the numbers.
It's great that you've taken this on and are trying, but you maybe flogging a horse that is dead.

Not at all David, there are over 20 people that cannot make this years date, but 10 that can, that is a potential 30 cars if most could, the date was changed which did the event no favours...Covid did not help but we still had a virtual one I think the sad truth is that these kind of events are a thing of the past now. I will put to vote on here and on social media to get a consensus on preferred dates...you are never going to please all the people all the time, no animals are injured during the creating of this event, the horses are being watered, fed and groomed and the custodians are ready to ride again...

Cheers

The S Club Eurotour has 5 posts on the forum - but the actual tour event is full (30+). Mind you all are owners of S's but not all current.
S Club Heaven has about 20 cars which is pretty good in todays environment.
Most S posts are on Facebook these days.
We could do a joint 2026 gathering? (of the cheapest TVRs you can buy)

We would of had around 30 if people were not doing other stuff...although it is still a low turnout even at those numbers, we had a Griffith joint event in 2015, an S and Wedge combined event might be an idea...we have enough time to plan for next year

Most of the Wedge stuff is also on faceblob, actually there are too many Wedge groups, there has been a fair bit of division due to various reasons but hopefully we can all come together again, life is too short...
Cheers
A big THANK YOU to all of you who supported this years event, it was a good event albeit salvaged at the last moment, 14 Wedges was not a bad turnout, so good to see old friends and make new ones
So next years date will be one of two weekends at the end of June 2026 and i shall look into venues for us to enjoy, the hotel is a cert so i shall post up event details before the end of October which will give the majority of you enough time to plan for it, seems that it may have been the problem with the cancelled event, well you are either cut out to organise or you are not!...i think my track record says it all, and i am proud of it...and will always be transparent with you as you are the event....i think most of you who really know me know i am not BS-ing you.
Thank you to Adam for volunteering but thankfully he had no pressure upon him as the sponsored event mugs were cancelled, for me it is a blessing as it means you enjoyed the event instead of stressing, that is my job and i shall endeavour to do it as best i can for as long as i can.
Delilah made a round trip of 400 miles and i was so pleased that she performed the way she did, shame the weather had other ideas...
...hey ho.
Oh and if you ever need a strange event to go to...let me know...i have one you can try...lordy...i wish people running these event would be as honest and transparent....
Next year will see the return of all the awards and presentations, and possibly a dyno as i am confident that numbers will be nearly back to where they were when i handed it over in 2021...i have sponsors put aside who kindly agreed to sponsor the event and will be seeking a few more, i will also be trying my best to build up the BBWF pot again as it was always agreed that there should be a minimum £500 balance to cover for the following year.
There are some funds already and i will add to it as i use to whenever i can, i:e money from trim jobs or goods etc..
So please keep them peeled for updates and enjoy the moment.
My kindest regards
