Hey Guys!

Is there a particular state of tune for a 4.5 V8 Hotwire that went into the 450's?

Heads? Induction? Mine has the enlarged throttle body, but I know very little else about it.

The heater pipework is a bit odd...Something to do with the air-con. perhaps??

If its an NCK engine then Dom Trickett at Powers Performance will have the build sheet for your engine. Give him a message.

Out of interest is it cross bolted?

I have an NCK 4.5 pre-serp in my Griffith and that’s cross bolted but not sure if they all were.

And yes Dom can tell you the original spec if you have an engine number

The NCK number is usually stamped on the front of the engine just below the oil filler....

I shall check the number when I get it on the ramp, in a week or so's time!

Thanks for the info, guys!

You could also try the usual place for the V8's number, on the block flange just next to the dipstick.
Some blocks still have the Rover serial with the NCK number, some just the NCK number.

It's says 3.9 not 4.5 . Not nitpicking, it's a genuine question.
Why is that 3.9 ?

They used those plenum chambers from landrover & modified the inlet size by boring & sleeving. As I understand it.

Surely that MAF meter needs to be remounted to sort out the intake air path ?

I thought the air filter should be down under the grill at the corner of the bonnet

Looks like it has been moved to avoid the alternator which is normally on the other side hiding the water pump. I guess that was moved due to the ignition? module in front of the brake master cylinder and the coil position. Looks to me like it's had a few mods and that air intake pipe has got a bit squished as a result.

I think it's to do with the air con compressor, power steering pump crowding out the front, so the alternator is mounted on the left hand side. As the air con is disconnected at present, I need to look at removing the air con compressor, and routing the induction in a more efficient position
