Parts Supplier TVR 280I
Discussion
Hi,
That depends on what you are after specifically. Some parts are harder to find than others. In some cases, it may mean finding an alternative but similar part.
These are bitser cars, that is parts robbed from the parts bin of other vehicles of the time. As you can imagine 40 odd years down the line, some of the parts are becoming somewhat scarce (even in breakers yards).
I see the car in your profile. What is the exact manufacture year?
Some alternatives are shown here:

There are some NOS and re-manufacturer suppliers in the UK, that is the knowledge of the forum members, Sometimes they come up with gems.
Give an example of what you are after perhaps?

I don't know if such a list exists for the Wedges but for the S Series cars an "Alternative Parts" list was created giving the source of many of the parts which TVR took from mainstream manufacturers.
In your case asking at a Motor Factors (is that what you call them over there?) for rear brake pads for a TVR will just get you a blank look but say they are for a Jaguar XJ6 and you might stand a chance

You should be able to find the anti-roll bar bracket and bushes in the states as they are a ford fitment..these should be okay though, Ford Granada mk2...I am not 100% sure on the drop links, I believe them to be Ford as well.025C 028A DROP LINK 2

I am sure that there are places in the states that have adjustable anti-roll bar drop links, that can be made to suit.
Similar to these:

They may not stock ones for TVR, but could probably make some from the parts shown, providing they know the dimensions?
The anti-roll bar bushes are fairly common both sides of the Pond, judging by the American fix m up programs shown over here. Just need to measure the Dia of the anti-roll bar, find some to suit.

I am here on the other side of the pond. Any suggestion on suppliers that I might use over there to get some parts for my 280I.
Thanks
Mark
I like many do not mind having small parts ordered to my address and then sent over, trouble is postage is a rip off as well as over scrutinised customs declarations, some even charge tax on used car parts....you should be able to find a supplier that side of the pond, but your options are global Thanks
Mark
Hi Mark - Reach out to Bill at Dominion Spares http://www.dominionspares.com/ He has things in stock and also imports things from the UK. Very good guy. But that doesn't help with NLA parts.
There is a 280i (and 350) parts interchange list for common wear parts. Unfortunately I had a computer (and back-up) crash and I'm not sure if I still have a copy.
Join the TVR Car Club of NA http://www.tvrccna.org/tvrccna.pl?page=index You can buy copies of out-of-print manuals, etc.
