Passenger side Window Lift Motor
Discussion
They are from some unknown car (rumour that they are Italian - where else would you go for electrics in the 80s).
What is the actual problem, I may be able to suggest a fix of the existing unit as I believe I have suffered most potential failures on this. I also have a good motor (except for a stripped gear).
You could try the Taz racers as I imagine they remove them

From memory I think it looked like the units on my 1980 Tasmin had been 'modified' from original. Someone suggested Reliant Scimitar (the motors were potted in epoxy to keep the rain out, seems like a good idea for the Tamworth Tank as well...;-)
On my '87 car the motors are marked 'CIM' and 'Rockwell Automotive', both of which have drawn a blank on internet searches.
So, er... not much use really!

I have had this on both my wedges and it wasn't the motor either time. The gear mechanisms just jammed when fully lowered. I think they must wear at this position and I fixed both of them permanently by modifying the stop to prevent the window lowering the last few mm.
This can either be done by drilling a hole in the quadrant and fitting a suitable nut & bolt, or by extending the existing stop by making a small cut in the next quadrant tooth and bending it.
You may be able to free it up by little force (once the complete unit is removed from the car), if not drill out the 3 rivets that hold the motor to the arm and hopefully it will miraculously start working again once the motor is off.
You can bolt the motor back on, but be careful that the heads don't foul anything, from memory you will need to drind one of them down for clearance.
If this doesn't work let me know and I will give you some more ideas. I can also take some piccies of my spare unit if you don't follow my ramblings!

Thanks Danny I will try to unjam w/o taking the motor apart first, then if i have to I will take out the rivits and moving the motor. I will tell you how I make out. I also recieved a quote for a new motor from someone in the UK but he wanted a 175 for it and he did not tell me what it came out of.
When mine stuck I freed it by moveing the gear. After removing it. Then using a power supply wizzed it up and down and the motor was ok until it hit the bottom again. Seemed the gears were sticking at bottom travel. Never fixed it. Just never let it hit bottom. It was the passenger side so not used often.
I did hear Audi but that depends what parts bin was being used that week and what year etc I suppose.
