Any experience with rear brakes dragging on Tasmin?

New owner here. On a 30 mile drive home after purchase, I noticed the rear brakes dragging/smoking. Got the car home, but the brakes were fading heavily. Adjusted the handbrake and flushed the brake fluid in the hopes that would resolve the issue. The rear brakes are still smoking. Was thinking I would remove the pads for the handbrake, and drive again to attempt to isolate the issue. Brake pads are brand new buy the way and rotors looks good too. Is this a common issue? Any input would be appreciated.

Piston sticking in the caliper.
Pistons tend to rust around the seal and then stick, so your brakes will be partially applied all the time. Heat, smoke etc.
You could buy new piston and seal kit, if available, to DIY a caliper refurb. Many people will just buy and fit a new caliper.
Always make sure calipers are a proper matched pair on the axle.

Many moons ago I had issues with the rear brakes on my old 280i
Couldn’t adjust the hand brake mechanism correctly- it either turned out not enough grip or it was binding - was a very slightly warped disc - depended where the disc was on its rotation wether it ended up tight or loose
No issues with normal braking no judder or anything
I replaced the callipers handbrake mechanism discs and pads as it all had to come out anyway and it’s such an awkward job you don’t want to have to do it again

Finally got around to getting my car on a lift and checking the rear brakes. Emergency Brake was not the issue. Rear brake slides just needed to be greased, and now the brakes seem to be working well. Thanks all for the advice. I am sure that I will be back soon with additional questions.
