I've only had the car a month and already I'm into my third phase of TVR ownership:
Phase I:
Addiction - I need to drive, tinker or just look at the car at least once and hour.
Phase II:
Denial – It doesn’t use that much petrol really, I can handle it !
Phase III:
Withdrawal - The weather is pants and I’m sitting in the garage behind the wheel hallucinating.
How do you cope with the bad weather, I’m finding myself wishing my life away to spring.

I can put up with leaks etc.. but I'm a bit conserned about keeping the chassis in good order.
I'm going to get it up in the air and wax-oil it again this winter.
Is there anything else I should be aware of if it's used in the wet.
Are de-humidifiers a good investment for the garage ?
I'm with Steve on this one - just drive it - so long as your tires are OK, TVRs can be quite fun in the wet. Remember TVRs were designed for driving, not laying up over winter

I have another solution .. get yourself (if you dont already have one) a substitute. When the weather is really bad its either off roading in the girlfriends Jeep, or its out on the trails on the scrambler.
When the weather is better, n=but not TVR weather, I use the everyday transport (Volvo T5). The everydat transport is also useful when carrying new wheels and tyres back to the wedge when the weather is too bad. I just take pride in answering the guy at the tyre place when he says "wot car are they off?" ... A TVR I reply *smirk *smirk.

Ok I’m convinced, bring on the damp greasy island loved by my old M3 and feared by the “better half”. (Had a job convincing the buyer of the M3 that the finger marks in the passenger door handle were ergonomic design features and not a result of a white knuckled passenger travelling sideways
!)
Don’t think I’ll be using it for the commute to work thou’. I get bored driving it in a straight line.

PS how bad are the leaks and where?

I haven't been out in serious rain yet. The windows need some adjusting as they don't seal against the roof completly so bit there. Bulkhead seems sound but could do with sealing round the heater hoses. Apart from that seems OK.
Now that the central heating is on, carefully place TVR in warm garage (I find the car size space in my companies' warehouse, under the overhead heater ideal). Cover it in blankets or old duvets and leave to hibernate. Occasionally, if nothing else to do, open garage door, sit in car and try to start it. If it starts, pretend you are on your way to Duxford or similar TVR gathering. Visual aids in the form of 35mm projector on the boot lid and white card stuck to windscreen are to be encouraged. If however, the battery is flat, ignore it until the spring, when you will have had time to save up for a new battery...

Seven years of TVR motoring in all weathers and still going strong. I don't like leaving a car unused for any length of time. Whenever I've done that in the past somethings usually fallen off!
I'd rather wear parts out than watch them rot.
I'm looking forward to playing in the snow this year now I've got myself a V8 at last!

not looking forward to scraping the ice off the inside of the windows though
